I love Tonic and my checkbook will back me up. But these scissors were a bust. Maybe I was using them incorrectly but I couldn't get them to cut properly.

If you use 110lb or greater cardstock for embellishments get Tim Holtz snips for fussy cutting, also made by Tonic. These don't work for cutting heavier papers, They might be okay for thread and twine, anything thin. I tried to cut paper toweling, half the time it only creased the towel without cutting. I wouldn't use them for ribbon either, they'll bind the ribbon in the snips. It maybe I received a defective pair, but they do work on 20lb paper.

I do a lot of precision cutting for a variety of paper crafting and am always on the lookout for sharp scissors to do detail cutting. My pair of snips unfortunately doesn’t do this. As you can see from the photos where I’m cutting a tonic paper bag, the edges of the cuts are ragged and not clean. This is paper, and I can’t use it on stamped images on cardstock as it won’t even cut at all on that. Yarn won’t cut either - blades separate. I got this as part of a scissor bundle. Maybe I just got a bum pair since the other review were positive.
